Festival Futurama 2022 foi cancelado definitivamente depois de vários adiamentos

Festival Futurama, evento Post-Punk que se ia realizar nos dias 16 e 17 de abril de 2022, no Invisible Wind Factory em Liverpool, Reino Unido, foi cancelado em vez de adiado por decisão do organizador, Marc Jones, devido à pandemia. O festival Retro tinha como destaques os Heaven 17, Peter Hook & The Light, Spear of Destiny, The Chameleons, The Blinders, entre outros.

FUTURAMA FESTIVAL CANCELLATION
The plans for the Futurama we’re drawn up in 2019 with the festival being announced in 2020.
Since then, we’ve unfortunately spent our entire existence living with COVID and the pandemic. Despite rescheduling a couple of times, Festival organiser Marc Jones has taken the decision to cancel rather than postpone again.
“The Futurama was booked as a one-off celebration event but nearly two years later it’s moved such a long way from that and there is still so much uncertainty about. We are gutted as so much work has gone into the Futurama but we are only a small team and planning has proved to be impossible recently with so many unknown variables that are beyond our control at present. It is not a decision that we have taken lightly especially because the bands, managers and agents have been amazing and completely supportive.”
We apologize to everyone who has bought a ticket and refunds are available from ticket outlets. COVID has been a nightmare for the whole industry and none of us thought we would be still struggling with it nearly two years on. We don’t feel the event can be delivered to the standards it deserves right now and we always wanted it to be a memorable, unique event where people could really enjoy themselves with brilliant post punk and electronic bands past and present.
